An artist can decide what is valuable or not and have determined  that rust is a precious material, I therefor since 1992 (the year of my first piece) have decided to continue working with this material untill i loose my fascination for it.

To my surprise 20 years later it still intrigues me.

"Avalanche" is a "Lawine" usually of snow, beautiful, clean and white.

but this one is of Rust, Brown, and I think in a certain way also beautiful.

I have collected those jump rings since many years and for a long time wanted to make a collection ranging from small in size to large, 50 total.

To see the movement of growth from the smallest to the largest.

The sizes of the rust rings go from the smallest possible to the largest acceptable, 

Those are my sizes. 

Larger would become disproportionate and smaller hardly visible.

アーテイストは何が価値があるものかそうでないか決めることができる。私はさびが貴重な素材だと決めた。それゆえに1992年、最初にさびを使った作品を創りそれからわたしのさびへの興味がうせるまでこの素材を使い作品を創ろうと決めた。驚いたことに20年後の今でもまだ私には興味深い素材だ。

"Avalanche" は”Lawine"で普通雪のことをいい、美しく綺麗で、真っ白なもの。

しかし、これらはさびて茶色であるがある意味ではやはり美しい。

わたしはこれらのジャンプリングを何年も集めてきていて、長い間５０個の小さいものから大きいものまで並んだコレクションを創りたかった。

一番小さいものから大きいものへの変化の様子をみること。ラストリングのサイズは見る事ができる限界の小さいものから私自身がいいと思える範囲の一番大きなものがある。これらはわたしの決めた一番美しいサイズたちである。大きくなればなるほど不均衡になるだろうし小さくなれば見にくくなるだろう。
